Büyük Bürüngüz Yazıcı Fountain

Location: It is located in Kayseri Province, Melikgazi District, Büyük Bürüngüz Neighborhood.

Current Status: Solid and used today.

Date : It was built in H.1169/M.1754.

Plan and Architectural Features: As a plan, the fountain is connected by two independent piers in the north and the wall piers in the south by arches and covered with a dome. Rosebezek motifs were engraved on the keystones of the arches in three directions. A crescent-shaped realm is placed on the top of the dome that covers the fountain and is crossed with a pendentive. The stone bracelets on which the ringlets are placed are circular in shape and their surfaces are decorated with floral motifs. The six-section concrete water trough, where the water flowing in the nozzles accumulates, is not original and protrudes outward from the front facade.

Decoration: Profile moldings on the fountain, rose decorations on the arch keystone, crescent-shaped globe on the top of the dome, and herbal decorations on the ringlet are ornamental elements.

Material and Technique: Smooth cut stone material was used.

Inscription: The epitaph of the fountain has been largely destroyed. However, the year H1169/M1754, seen on the bottom line of the inscription, should probably be the construction date of the fountain.
