Çifte Kümbet (Double Cupola)
Location: It is located in Kayseri Province, Melikgazi District, Yıldırım Beyazıt District.
Date: It was made in 1247-1248.
Who Had It Built: It was built by the daughters of Melik Adile Hatun. The reason why it is called a double cupola is that there was once a second cupola next to this cupola, but that cupola was destroyed.
For Whom It Was Built: It was built in the name of Melike Adile Hatun.
Who is Melike Adile Hatun: Melike Adile Hatun is the wife of Sultan I. Alaaddin Keykubad and the daughter of Ayyubid Ruler Melik Adil. II. Gıyâseddin Keyhusrev had his stepmother Melike Adile imprisoned in Ankara Castle and then strangled, and his daughters had this tomb built in Kayseri for their mother.
