Ağırnas Kilisesi

Location: It is located in Kayseri Province, Melikgazi District, Ağırnas District.Current Status: The work is considered as Ağırnas Culture and Art Museum today.Date : It was built in 1857.Plan and Architectural Features: There is a two-storey narthex on the west façade of the building, which was built in an east-west direction. The interior of the church is arranged as three naves. The middle nave is designed wider than the others. All naves are covered with barrel vaults.Material and Technique: Smooth cut stone material was used throughout the building.Inscription: The work has no inscription. There is the phrase “Agios Prokopios 1857” written in latin letters in the slot of the original inscription above the entrance door on the west façade.Dating: According to the inscription placed later on the door of the church, it can be accepted that it was built in the second half of the 19th century (1857).
