Germir İptida-i Mektebi

Location: It is located in Kayseri Province, Melikgazi District, Germir Neighborhood.

Date: H.1329/M.1913.

Plan and Architectural Features: The building was built on a basement floor. Its entrance is provided from the north side by a two-sided stone staircase. The landing has a round-arched portico arranged on two columns, and the tughra of Sultan Reşat can be seen on the northern façade of the portico. There is a construction inscription of the building above the entrance door in the north. The eastern room of the building was built over the vaulted passage that covered the street.

Decoration: There is no significant ornamentation in the work.

Material and Technique: The building was built using smooth cut stone, and wood was used for the floor covering and the top cover.

Inscription: The inscription, arranged in four lines of two lines each, is dated H.1329/M.1913.

Dating: The building was built in 1913. It was repaired in 1983 and regained its current function with the restoration works carried out in 2016.
