Who is Seyyid Burhaneddin Hüseyin: One of the spiritual architects of Kayseri, Seyyid Burhaneddin, whose real name is Hüseyin, was born in Tirmidhi, which is in the borders of current Uzbekistan. Seyyid Burhaneddin, who studied religious and mental sciences in Tirmiz, came to Belh and became a student of Bahaeddin Veled. At the request of Bahaeddin Veled, Seyyid Burhaneddin, who undertook the spiritual upbringing of Mevlana, who was a small child, left Belh after completing his duty. Seyyid Burhaneddin, who was an important name in the academic community of the period, was given names such as ""Sayyid-i Sırdan"" and ""Muhakkik"". For Seyyid Burhaneddin, who died in 1244 in Kayseri, a tomb was built in the cemetery named after him in 1894.
Hz. Mevlana's teacher, Seyid Burhaneddin, lived in Kayseri between 1235 and 1244. Seyid Burhaneddin, who went to Konya to give lectures to the Mevlana, after a dream he had, stayed here for a year and returned to Kayseri. Mevlana later came to Kayseri and continued to take lessons from his teacher. Sayyid Burhaneddin Hz. He taught Mevlana for 9 years.
It is understood that a tomb was not built on the grave of Seyyid Burhaneddin, who died in Kayseri in 1244, until the end of the 19th century. It is stated that Abidin Pasha, the governor of Ankara province to which Kayseri is affiliated, presented to the sultan to build a tomb on the grave when they came to visit Kayseri for inspection purposes in 1894, and it was decided to build a tomb with the will of Sultan Abdulhamid II. Seyyid Burhaneddin Tomb was built to the north of the 1348 Erdoğmuş tomb (adjacent to the northern wall of the tomb) with three areas and a central dome. There is an inscription dated M.1894 written by Ali Emir on the door opening."
